Inspected and evaluated on the spot by the experts team
from the Ministry of Education in Sept., 2000, Network
Education College of Fujian Normal University was then
approved by the Ministry of Education in Jan., 2001
as a key network education college supported nationwide
and as one of the experimental units of modern distance
learning. The college was approved of the right to develop
Chinese Language Teaching in Southeast Asia, to enroll
students nationwide, to set up majors, to arrange entrance
examinations and to determine areas and scope of enrollment
on its own. It was also approved of the right to issue
nationally authorized graduation certificates and degree
certificates of Fujian Normal University. The college
now has an enrollment number of about 10,000.
To fully implemented the national strategy
of “relying on science and education to rejuvenate the
nation” and the policy to speed up modern distance learning,
Fujian Normal University makes the fullest use of its
rich educational resources, starts up in the quickest
manner the project of modern education learning, and
practices its distance teaching through the uses of
Network-- Video Two Way Conference System—Digital Satellite
Network by employing the advanced information technology
and educational technology and by rearranging various
educational resources, with the eventual goal to span
the development of modern distance learning.
Network Education College has as its subsidiaries the
website of the modern distance learning of Fujian Normal
University, digital library, supporting platform of
distance learning system, data bank system, network
courseware making system. The college has realized the
rearrangement of educational resources, technical development
and maintenance, support and service.
Network Education College sets up about
10 most needed hot majors out of the 41 majors of the
undergraduate education in Fujian Normal University.
These majors includes: Primary Education, Business Administration,
Computer Science and Technology, Law, English, Chinese
Language and Literature, Ideological and Political Education,
Public Administration ( Educational Administration),
Mathematics & Applied Mathematics, Chinese Language
Teaching. The college also provides the program of Promotion
from Junior College to Undergraduate College.

Normal University will not only deepen its researches
in the fields of modern distance learning technology,
educational concepts, teaching methodology, teaching
format and teaching administration, but also foster
an open modern education environment through unceasing
practices and exploration so as to formulate gradually
